Looking at the way we teach American History in this country, it’s very clear how white-washed and glorified it is. The oppression and involuntary contributions that BIPOC have made to the development of the U.S. is constantly swept under the rug.
This book brings to light the racist history of this country by juxtaposing text from The Declaration of Independence, Robert F. Kennedy’s “A Speech On Race,” and visual inspiration from Russian Constructivism to shed light on their mistreatment and remind people that inhumane practices are not a foreign concept, but ones that have occurred in this country we are “so proud” to call home.
